Optoelectronics is a branch of electronics that studies the interaction between light and electricity. It covers devices converting light to electrical signals or turning electrical energy into light, widely used in display, lighting, sensing and optical‑communication fields.
LED (Light‑Emitting Diode) is a typical optoelectronic semiconductor component. When electric current passes through its semiconductor chip, it releases energy in the form of light. Compared with traditional light sources, LEDs feature low power consumption, long service life, fast response and compact size.
