1. Product Overview
Ceramic plungers are core reciprocating sealing components for high-speed jet dispensing valves. Driven by piezoelectric or pneumatic actuators, they perform rapid linear striking motion to open and close the nozzle seat, achieving non-contact micro-dispensing of adhesives. The ceramic striking tip provides stable sealing and impact performance, ideal for abrasive, filled and chemically aggressive glues.
This consumable is widely adopted in semiconductor packaging, CCM lens assembly, Mini/Micro LED and automotive electronics dispensing processes. Compared with tungsten steel or metal plungers, alumina ceramic features superior wear resistance, low friction and chemical inertness, reducing sealing surface wear and extending service life under continuous high-frequency cycling.
2. Core Features & Advantages
- High-Purity Alumina Ceramic Material 99.9% alumina ceramic with high hardness, excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Resists erosion by silver paste, solder paste, abrasive epoxy and UV glue; avoids metal contamination.
- Ultra-Precision Lapped Sealing Surface Mirror polishing and precision lapping on the striking end, tight fit with nozzle seat. Stable sealing performance, minimal glue leakage and consistent droplet volume.
- Low Friction & High Cyclic Stability Smooth ceramic surface reduces sliding friction inside the valve body. Suitable for high-frequency jetting up to thousands of cycles per second, less heat accumulation.
- High Dimensional Accuracy & Concentricity Precision cylindrical grinding, tight tolerance control and high coaxiality. No jitter during reciprocating motion, effectively suppress glue tailing and satellite droplets.
- Customizable Tip Geometry & Structure Custom tip angle, spherical/flat striking face, rod diameter, total length and mounting step to match mainstream jet valves (VerMes, Musashi, Nordson, homemade piezoelectric valves).
- Cleanroom Compatible Dense sintered ceramic, low particle generation, suitable for Class 100 cleanroom packaging environments.
3. Typical Applications
- High-speed jet dispensing: Piezo jet valves and pneumatic jet valves
- Semiconductor packaging: Underfill, die attach epoxy, silver paste dispensing
- Optoelectronics: CCM/VCM lens bonding, LED fluorescent glue coating
- Automotive electronics: Sensor module sealant, electronic adhesive micro-dispensing
- Compatible fluids: Silver paste, solder paste, filled epoxy, UV glue, silicone, abrasive slurries

5. Operation & Maintenance Notes
- Ceramic is brittle. Avoid side impact, bending and dropping; lateral force will cause fracture.
- Match the plunger tip angle with nozzle seat to ensure uniform sealing contact. Mismatch leads to leakage and unstable dots.
- Clean glue residue promptly after production. Ultrasonic cleaning is recommended for cured adhesive.
- Regularly inspect the striking surface for scratches, chipping and wear. Replace when dot size fluctuates obviously.
- Set proper jet stroke and striking force; excessive impact accelerates wear of both plunger and nozzle seat.
